Netflix announced a huge deal to buy Warner Bros. Discovery for about $82.7 billion, a move that could change the entertainment world in a big way. The agreement includes Warner Bros.’ movie and TV studios, along with HBO and HBO Max, which Netflix plans to keep as a separate streaming service for now, while also adding HBO content to its own platform. Netflix says it wants to continue Warner Bros.’ movie releases in theaters and expects the deal to save the company billions of dollars each year. The purchase is valued at $27.75 per share and is expected to be completed in the next 12–18 months, after Warner Bros. Discovery finishes separating its TV networks division into a new company.
