Thieves wearing construction vests used a mobile freight elevator to break into the Louvre museum in Paris. This occurred during daylight hours on Sunday, as the thieves stole nine pieces of French crown jewels of inestimable value from the Galerie d’Apollon. The suspects escaped on motorcycles and attempted to burn the truck and elevator they used. An investigation is underway by the Brigade for the Suppression of Banditry to find the perpetrators.
