The 2026 Grammy Awards provided a night of entertainment and fun for many artists and fans. From record-breaking to history-making, February 1 was a day to remember, especially for the ninety-five category winners which included Olivia Dean, Billie Eilish O’Connell and Finneas O’Connell, Kendrick Lamar, and Bad Bunny.
Bad Bunny- Album of the Year
Bad Bunny made history winning Album of the Year for his song, “DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS.” As the first artist to win Record’s Academy’s top honor with a Spanish-language release, he celebrated his Puerto Rican heritage with his speech, dedicating his award to those who “had to leave to follow their dreams.” In Spanish, he said, “Thank God, thank you to the academy, thank you to all the people who have believed in me throughout my whole career. To all the people who worked on this album. Thank you, Mami, for giving birth to me in Puerto Rico. I love you.”
Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell- Song of the Year
Another headline, Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell, won Song of the Year for their hit “Wildflower,” as the first songwriters to ever win Song of the Year three times. Both wearing “ICE Out” pins, Billie Eilish made a speech advocating against immigration enforcement stating, “No one is illegal on stolen land.”
Kendrick Lamar- Record of the Year
Kendrick Lamar, now the most awarded rapper in Grammy history, won Record of the Year with his song “Luther.” He currently has a career total of 27 wins, surpassing Jay-Z’s 25 wins. While accepting this life-changing award, he made a speech stating, “It is hip-hop as usual, man. I’m not good at talking about myself, but I express it through the music. It’s an honor to be here. Hip-hop is going to always be right here. We are going to be in these suits looking good, having our folks with us. We are going to be having the culture with us.”
Olivia Dean- Best New Artist
Olivia Dean, the British R&B singer scored a sensational chart-topper with her song “Man I Need,” #4 on the Billboard 100 and moving her album “The Art of Loving,” to #3 on the Billboard 200. She has already dominated becoming the first British woman since Adele to land three singles in the U.K.’s Top 10 charts, where she currently maintains the bestselling, number-one album and single. While accepting her Grammy for Best New Artist, a tearful Dean was quick to highlight being, “a granddaughter of an immigrant. I’m a product of bravery and I think those people deserve to be celebrated. We are nothing without each other.”
