Chevy’s New Bolt EV Could Change The Future For Electric Cars

General Motors’ new electric car, the Chevrolet Bolt EV is beginning to be released in California and Oregon. The Bolt was named Motor Trend magazine’s car of the year for 2017. The vehicle has marked a turning point in the history of electric cars; it is the first car that is capable of traveling more than 200 miles on a single charge. According to the Los Angeles Times, the base price of the car is $37,495, but state and federal inducement bring the price down to about $29,000. The hatchback proves to be a challenge for Tesla and their new cars. It is a challenge for Tesla, because it will directly compete with their new upcoming Model 3, Tesla’s first mid-market car.
