On Thursday, February 28, in Hanoi, Vietnam, U.S President Donald Trump met with North Korea’s leader, Kim Jong Un to discuss on nuclear weapons just as they did in their historic summit meeting that took place last June in Singapore. According to The New York Times, the exchange was “aimed at once again trying to persuade the North to dismantle its nuclear weapons program and join the global economy.”

“Vietnam is thriving like few places on earth. North Korea would be the same, and very quickly if it would denuclearize. The potential is AWESOME, a great opportunity, like almost none other in history, for my friend Kim Jong Un. We will know fairly soon – Very Interesting!” — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump)

The two leaders ended the Vietnam summit hours early after failing to agree to a nuclear deal. “It turned out that the leaders could not bridge the U.S. demand that North Korea provide a specific plan for denuclearization and North Korea’s demand that the U.S. end economic sanctions first,” reports USA Today.
