Manny Machado to the Padres For a Whopping Deal!

Early Tuesday morning, former Los Angeles Dodger Manny Machado became the new third baseman for the San Diego Padres. But catch this, he signed a 10-year, 300 million dollar contract! His signature found its way onto the sports history books. It was the biggest free-agent signing in American sports history. Machado was still deciding late Monday night but the Padres’ offer thrilled him.
Machado started his career off with the Baltimore Orioles and decided to the Los Angeles Dodgers last year. He was an All-Star and went to the World Series, but he was beaten by the Boston Red Sox
Now, he just signed the biggest free-agent contract in American sports history. Machado was still deciding late Monday night but the Padres’ offer thrilled him. Many Dodgers fans are not happy with Manny Machado’s decision.
Christian Romero, a Dodgers fan, said that Manny Machado “is not worth 10 years, $300 million.” He also feels this won’t affect the Dodgers and that the Padres won’t be good next year.
“I don’t like him going to the Padres. I think he will have a big impact on our game, but I don’t like him as a player.” In addition, Brock does “not think that the Padres will be contenders this season,” said Padres fan, Brock F.
