MLB Playoffs
October 22, 2018
Another crazy season in Major League Baseball has ended. Crazy trades, extra games, broken records, and more headlined the 2018 season. The race for a spot in the playoffs ended. In the National League, the Dodgers, Braves, Brewers and Rockies had the top seeds. In the American League, the Indians, Astros, Red Sox and the Yankees remained.
The Cubs were eliminated in the National League Wild Card by the Rockies, 2-1, in 13 innings, and the Athletics suffered the same fate in the American League, 7-2, due to the Yankees. In the Division Series, the Dodgers eliminated the Braves, the Brewers swept the Rockies, the Astros destroyed the Indians and the Red Sox ended the Yankees season.
The hunt for the ring narrowed down to 4 remaining teams. In the National League, the Dodgers had a slim win over the Brewers. Game 1, 3 and 6 belonged to Milwaukee, while 2, 4, 5 and 7 went to Los Angeles. In the American League, the Red Sox won the series against the Astros 4 games to 1. Game 1 went to the Astros and the Red Sox took the rest.
Now we wait for the Dodgers and Red Sox to fight it out in the best of seven style World Series. Can the Dodgers redeem themselves after last year’s collapse? Or will the Red Sox maintain the same dominance they had in the regular season?
