Jupiter’s Great Red Spot could potentially disappear in the next 10 to 20 years.

The well-known Great Red Spot on Jupiter could vanish within the next 10 to 20 years. If you didn’t already know, Jupiter’s Great Red Spot is a gigantic storm that measures several Earths across. It has lasted for over 200 years, and it appears to be coming to an end.

“Slow changes allow for the storm to adjust in various ways, while sudden changes would more likely cause disruption,” Amy Simon, from NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, says, “Based on the current info we have, I would guess if it were to stabilize, it will likely happen in the next decade or less.”
