As the first pitch was about to be thrown, the heat in LA set a record for the highest temperature to begin a World Series game.

In the inaugural game of the 2017 World Series, the home team, Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Houston Astros 3-1. Center fielder, Chris Taylor of LA hit a leadoff home run to start the game with a bang. Clayton Kershaw threw an amazing seven innings for the Dodgers and in return, Dallas Keuchel for the Astros pitched 6 ⅔ innings. Kershaw only had one blemish on his outing; a solo home run to Alex Bregman while Keuchel gave up three runs on his start, a solo home run to Chris Taylor and a two-run jack to Justin Turner.

The Dodgers now have a one-game advantage over the Astros in the World Series. Will they hold up their lead and give LA their seventh World Championship and their first since 1988, or will they blow it and have Houston earn their first rings ever?
