Band teacher Ms. Miller gave an informational holiday speech, three different band’s music filled the auditorium, and Mr. Zajicek ran across the stage dressed as a Santa pirate for the eighth grade performance. The spotlight reflected from the metal instruments, drawing attention to the stage.
This year, the Winter Concert at Los Osos was an enjoyable sight to see.
“[We played songs like] Baby it’s Cold Outside, Sleigh Ride, and Colors of The Wind,” said Eva W., a 7th grader.
Songs were played on the Los Osos stage on December 13, Wednesday night.
Parents appreciated seeing their children perform on stage, and the band kids displayed all of the time they had spent in preparation for the evening.
“I liked [the concert]; it was nice,” said parent Uriel Ojeda, ”We do [see improvement], especially with the 6th and 7th graders.”
To the student audience, the concert gave our Coyotes a chance to appreciate the talents of their friends.
“I was in awe; I feel like my friends did well.” said Julianne D.
“I think they performed very well and they showed a lot of professionalism on the stage and really set an example for the younger students,” said Ms. Miller, Day Creek’s band teacher, “No performance is ever going to be perfect. We are humans, mistakes are going to happen. We call it the art of faking it till you make it.”
