In an already chaotic scenario, things got worse at Kabul’s airport on August 26. Two suicide bombers killed 13 US troops and at least 60 Afghans. The lead military commander on the ground stated that this would not stop the US from evacuating. At the time, around 5,000 people were waiting to fly out from the airport. Though warnings have been given throughout the recent days regarding this type of threat, it hasn’t stopped people from attempting to flee the Taliban.
