Why are we here? Why do we exist in the world? Two very deep philosophical and theological questions. And why do we rarely talk about them?

Everyday when we go to school, we talk about the latest sports game or what we did over the weekend, but it’s not often that we discuss anything deeper than that. Why? For many people, they just don’t think about it. They are just cruising through life, without pausing to reflect on the idea of a greater purpose. For others, they don’t know the answer but meditate on it occasionally. When we go to school, we forget the beliefs rooted in us and attempt to be likable and fit in. We try not to hurt anyone else’s feeling with our opinions.

I believe that we all have a calling on this earth. What that is? Sometimes it’s hard to tell. But if we work hard and learn what we are passionate about, we might just find it.

There is a reason that we have other people in our lives. And there’s also a reason you are in the lives of other people. You may not realize the impact that others have on you or the impact you make on them. Too often, we get caught up in a world of superficial ideas. We forget our greater calling.

So tomorrow morning, as you are waking up, maybe you should worry less about what you’re going to wear, and think more about how grateful you are to be alive.
