Daytona 500 driver Ryan Newman was recently hospitalized after his car flipped over, collided with a wall, and was hit by another driver. Luckily, he is fully alert and walking around, even “joking with people by his side during his hospital stay,” stated USA Today. His racing team announced, “Ryan Newman continues to show great improvement after Monday night’s last-lap accident at Daytona International Speedway.” According to USA Today, the “severity of the crash caused winner Denny Hamlin and his team to shut down the celebration, as drivers wished Newman a speedy recovery.”
