The director of the C.I.A., Mike Pompeo, met with Kim Jong-un in North Korea over Easter weekend. The visit was kept secret from the public and was only recently confirmed by President Donald Trump. The meeting intended to set the foundation for Trump’s planned visit to North Korea later this year.

“Mike Pompeo met with Kim Jong Un in North Korea last week,” Trump tweeted. “Meeting went very smoothly and a good relationship was formed. Details of Summit are being worked out now. Denuclearization will be a great thing for [the] World, but also for North Korea!”
