On Tuesday, October 31st, 2017, a rental truck suspected to be driven by a 29-year-old from Uzbekistan drove through a busy bicycle path in New York City. This horrific act killed eight people and injured about a dozen others. The NYC mayor, Bill de Blasio, believes this was an act of terror.

“This was an act of terror, and a particularly cowardly act of terror,” said Mayor Bill de Blasio, “aimed at innocent civilians, aimed at people going about their lives who had no idea what was about to hit them.”
