North Korea previously planned to send four ballistic missiles to the nearby US territory of Guam as a show of force. After heated rhetoric between the two countries, North Korea backed down on Tuesday, August 15, 2017. North Korea state media stated that Kim Jong Un wanted to “watch a little more the foolish and stupid conduct of the Yankees.”

As said on CBS, “North Korean leader Kim Jong Un was presented with the plans to launch four ballistic missiles toward the island of Guam, but he decided to hold off … for now.”
