Kansas Principal Amy Robertson resigned after the student journalism published an article scrutinizing her resume. The students were looking deeper into their new principal’s background when they stumbled upon “illegitimate credentials.” According to NBC News, a senior and editor of the newspaper, Tina Praul, commented, “She was going to be the head of our school, and we wanted to be assured that she was qualified and had the proper credentials. We stumbled on some things that most might not consider legitimate credentials.” The students’ research led them to discover that the university she had received her degree from had been accused of being a diploma mill multiple times. Shortly after the article was published on the students’ school website, The Booster Redux, the principal resigned.
