Aleppo, Syria’s largest city, was completely destroyed Tuesday when bombs were dropped there. After the incident, the last remaining rebels agreed to leave Aleppo and hand it over to the government. The war was started when citizens began to rebel against the government, and when many were killed, the uprising turned into a civil war. According to the Los Angeles Times, the collapse of the rebel forces marked the victory of President Bashar al-Assad in his almost 6-year civil war – a war that turned cities to rubble and left thousands dead. Buses were loaded with injured and uninjured people who were to be relocated out of Aleppo.
