Fidel Castro Dies

Fidel Castro, Cuba’s former dictator who had ruled for 49 years died on Friday, November 25th at 90 years old. His brother, Raul Castro announced his death in a broadcasted statement the day after Fidel’s death. Crowds gathered in Havana’s Revolution Square for the beginning of a memorial for Fidel Castro. Castro, who took power in 1959, persecuted and killed protesters and isolated Cuba from much of the world. He also fought with 10 American presidents and nearly started a nuclear war over the Cuban missile crisis. Vladimir Putin, Justin Trudeau and Theresa May are a few of the world leaders who have decided not to attend the funeral of Fidel Castro.
