A short while before his final foreign meeting, President Barack Obama held his first news conference since the election. Our president told reporters that he and his team will do what they can to “ensure a smooth transition” for Donald Trump, according to USA Today. Mr. Obama said that he thought that Trump was entering office with fewer set policy ideas than other presidents-elect, and told the press, “I don’t think he is ideological, I think ultimately he is pragmatic.” Obama encouraged Trump to “reach out to minority groups, or women, or others that were concerned about the tenor of the election,” and urged Americans to give Donald Trump a chance.
