What were you most nervous about starting the school year?

“This year I was most nervous about whether my friends would leave me or if we would still be together.  One thing I found out about going to middle school is you lose some people that you care about. This became a reality when [some] friends starting acting different. I felt sad because I had been friends with them for a long time and to have them not be there anymore sucked. At the same time, probably what I was most excited about was to make new friends. It was really cool because I was also sad that I had to leave my old teachers because I liked them a lot.  But when I came here, all my teachers were really nice to me. My favorite subject to do at school is math because I love all of the new skills I get to learn. My biggest goal for this year is to make a lot of new friends and to get good grades. I’ve also set a goal for myself: my final goal is to not to get in trouble as much as I did last year. Overall school has been great.”
