2nd Grade Teacher In Texas Adopts A No Homework Rule

Ajooni G., Writer

A second grade teacher in North Texas adopted a no homework rule for the whole year. Brandy Young teaches at Godley Elementary School, in Godley, a town 20 miles southwest of Fort Worth. Last week, Young sent a note to parents that she is trying something new, and is not going to assign homework other than unfinished classwork. She backs up her claim with a study, and states that research has been unable to prove that homework improves student performance.
