Molly Huddle, the US Olympic runner, breaks America’s 10,000m record this year at the Rio Olympics. On August 12, 2016, Huddle finished in sixth place, but still managed to shatter the United States’ record set by Shalane Flanagan at the Beijing Olympics by more than nine seconds. The 31 year old credited the weather – cool with occasional rain, perfect for running – in helping her set the new American record. Everyone, including Huddle, was proud of her.

“That’s an amazing record,” Huddle said. “I always thought that was a ridiculous time that Shalane ran. So, definitely proud to have gotten that,” she told www.teamusa.org.
