Super Bowl LX took place on February 8, featuring a long-awaited rematch between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks. The two teams previously faced off in the 2015 Super Bowl, where the Patriots narrowly won 28–24. After that painful loss, Seattle waited years for another chance at redemption.
Despite high expectations, the first half of the game left many viewers unimpressed. Seattle managed to score only through field goals, while New England struggled to move the ball at all.
“Their performance was uneventful,” said Daniel C., echoing the frustration of many fans.
The Seahawks entered the game with confidence after years of rebuilding and a strong season, while the Patriots appeared unprepared offensively. New England’s offense failed to find rhythm, and quarterback Drake Maye struggled under constant pressure. The offensive line offered little protection, allowing Seattle’s defense to dominate the line of scrimmage.
“The Patriots’ offensive line was not good this year,” said Harrison P.
By the end of the third quarter, Seattle had built a 12–0 lead entirely from field goals. New England punted eight times in the first three quarters, giving the Seahawks repeated scoring opportunities. Seattle’s top-ranked defense had no trouble shutting down the Patriots’ offense.
The fourth quarter finally brought some excitement to an otherwise slow game. AJ Barner caught a pass for the first touchdown of the night, and the Patriots responded with their first score of the game. However, any hope of a comeback was quickly erased when Seattle’s defense sealed the win with a 45-yard pick-six.
“Kenneth Walker and the Seahawks offense and defense both led them to the win,” Harrison added.
The game ended with Seattle winning 29–13, earning the franchise its second Super Bowl title. Defeating the Patriots was a major milestone for the Seahawks, finally avenging their heartbreaking loss from 2015.
