At Day Creek Intermediate School, tomorrow’s final bell at 1:00 p.m. marks more than just the end of the day. It kicks off an exciting two-week winter break full of travel and family time. Students are swapping textbooks for suitcases, eager to enjoy a homework-free holiday.
For seventh-grader Noah M., this break is extra special: it’s his first trip to Dubai. Known for its stunning skyscrapers, the city holds even more appeal for Noah because of family.
“I’ll be visiting my cousins, uncles, and aunts I haven’t seen in a while,” Noah said. “I’m really excited to hang out with my family and check out some landmarks in Dubai.”
The trip combines sightseeing with reconnecting with his relatives.
Noah isn’t the only student heading abroad. Brayden I. is set for a week-and-a-half visit to Indonesia.
“I’m going to Indonesia for a week and a half to meet my grandparents and cousins,” Brayden said. “I barely see them because they can’t travel to America, and I only visit once every two years.”
In addition to family time, Brayden plans to explore malls and arcades. He’s also looking forward to bringing back unique gifts and snacks for his friends.
Closer to home, Kennedy Z. has a busy domestic itinerary planned, splitting her break between two states.
“I’m going to Texas and Arizona because most of my family lives in Texas, and I’m going to Arizona for a New Year’s party,” Kennedy said.
In Texas, she’ll enjoy classic family traditions: “I’m going to hang out with my family, go to Buc-ee’s, drink Swig, and watch a dance show.”
For the Arizona portion, a big New Year’s celebration awaits, followed by heading [back] on a boat.
From international flights to family reunions and road trips across states, Day Creek Coyotes have a wide variety of plans. Whether jetting off to faraway places or staying local to relax and play video games, one thing is clear: when that bell rings tomorrow at 1:00 p.m., winter adventures will begin for everyone.
