Just a few months after the Alaska Airlines mid-flight blowout, a Boeing airplane suffered another mechanical failure. On Sunday, a Boeing 737-800 operated by Southwest bound for Huston lost an engine cover during takeoff.

CNN reports that the flight was sent to take off after 8:00 am. The engine cowlings fell off during takeoff, forcing the flight to make an emergency landing at Huston International Airport.  Southwest Airlines said the flight “landed safely after experiencing a mechanical issue.” The reason of the falling engine is under investigation by the FAA.
