The 2016 Election

April 30, 1789, was the first time in American history that someone was elected president of the United States of America. Presidential elections have happened every four years since then. Now, it is time to decide who will be elected the 45th president of the United States.

A lot of people have been debating over who should be the next president. Some people don’t want certain candidates to be the future president because of their plans to run this country.

“I would be concerned for not only me but also future generations, knowing that the other party will result in a larger government that takes more of the people’s money and power,” said Mr. Ferrari

From the opposing point of the debate, some people like the candidates choices because they think it would help improve America.

“I would want Hillary Clinton to become the next president. I feel like she has been in politics long enough to know what she is doing. I feel like she would have a real grasp around what is happening politically around our nation,” said Mrs. Clarke.

Although the candidates do have abilities that meet America’s challenges, some teachers want specific characteristics in the candidates.

“I think someone who is willing to talk and work with other countries. Someone who is willing to make the hard decisions to make America safe should be the next president,” said Mr. Evans

Now, it is time to decide who will be elected the 45th president of the United States.  There will be multiple debates where candidates will express different ideas about how this country should be run.  But the final decision will be made by the citizens of the country on November 8, 2016.
