Adidas breaks partnership with Kanye West due to his anti semitic comments.

Kanye West, also known as Ye, recently made anti-semitic comments in an interview with Adidas (Kanye’s biggest brand) and ended their partnership with Kanye that started in 2013. Adidas stated this morning, “Adidas does not tolerate antisemitism and any other sort of hate speech,”. Ye had previously made controversial comments about abortion, Jews, black prejudice, and many more in this past year. One in particular that he said during an interview with scientist Lex Fridman, “Fifty percent today… Black people’s deaths today is abortion… it’s not racism; that’s too wide of a term. It’s genocide and population control that black people are in today in America, that is promoted by the music and the media that black people make, that Jewish record labels get paid off of”. What makes him say these controversial comments? Is it because of his mental disorder? Some people say it is because of his bipolar disorder.  He was diagnosed in 2016 and has since been experiencing “manic episodes.” His supporters stand by his side, for example, on the LA highway this week, a group of his supporters was described as holding a sign that said, “Kanye was right about the Jews” while doing the Nazi salute. While we are allowed to have our own opinions, what are the consequences for public figures announcing unfounded statements?
