Federal workers are getting paid the money they lost during the shutdown.

Federal workers who have been furloughed or forced to work without pay during the partial government shutdown, will receive pay, after a legislation signed by President Donald Trump on Wednesday, January 16. The workers will be paid after the government shutdown has ended, which is dragging into its 28th day.

“I’m also pleased to report to you that with the full support of the president of the United States, just moments ago the House of Representatives passed legislation that will ensure that all the dedicated professionals at Custom and Border Protection and all of the agencies affected by this shutdown will be paid in full,” Vice President Mike Pence told U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents during a visit to the agency’s Washington, D.C., headquarters.
