Renaissance is a monthly event held for students who have at least a 3.6 GPA. This event is held because Day Creek staff feel that the kids should be rewarded for their hard work and dedication. Tailgate is one of the most fun and most important Renaissance events of the year. The Howl was lucky enough to attend this amazing event. There was a lot of food and fun activities to participate in. Including, Giant Jenga, Giant Chess, Checkers, Over-The-Wall Four Square, Foosball, Connect Four and so much more.

The students attending the Tailgate Event had a lot of fun playing these activities. The bingo game was definitely a favorite.

Alexis V. did win something in the bingo game. She said,”[The bingo was my favorite because]  I won sour skittles and normal skittles.”

Students in Renaissance are very diligent, as it is very hard to get an invitation to this awesome event. Jake C. said ,” I worked hard, I made sure I had no missing assignments,”

They enjoyed the fun games and music as well as hanging out with friends outside of the normal stress of the school day. Kyle T. said,”I just like playing the games and hanging out with friends.”

All four students had some advice to give the people who are hard and struggling to get Renaissance. Sammy O. said, “Always finish your work and don’t just think, ‘Oh, I’ll finish it tomorrow.”  Kyle T. said, “Keep trying [and] do [ your] best,”.
