The Red Sox take the World Series!

Raghu C., Writer

Before Red Sox fans entered the stadium, a rainbow was cast over Fenway Park. Later, fans were taking cover under the concourses, due to lightning warnings.

The World Series between the Dodgers and the Red Sox began on Tuesday, with the Red Sox taking Game 1, 8-4. Boston dominated the game and kept their lead throughout. Both Clayton Kershaw and Chris Sale pitched 4 innings, before being pulled out by managers, Dave Roberts and Alex Cora. Kershaw gave up 3 runs, while Sale gave up 2. The Dodgers’ relief pitchers did no better giving up a total of 5 runs. Alex Wood, a Dodgers’ pitcher gave up a game-changing 3-run homer to Eduardo Nuñez.

The Red Sox now have a 1-game lead over the Dodgers in the 2018 World Series. Will they hang on to their lead and get the club’s ninth title? Or can the Dodgers redeem themselves after last year’s failure and get their seventh title?
