Day Creek’s Admin. get pies thrown at them.

Maleehah H., Writer

Imagine sitting in a chair surrounded by kids who are throwing plates of whipped cream with a reasonable aim, at your face. Would you feel scared, or would you laugh? Maybe you wouldn’t know what to do but sit in an uncomfortable position with an awkward smile of regret on your face.

Mrs. Raymond found this position funny. “Being able to laugh at yourself is an important quality,” she said. “All the administers believe that it was a fun opportunity for kids to do something different.”

Mrs. Raymond was not the only person to enjoyed this event. 6th, 7th, and 8th graders were ecstatic. “It’s good to be rewarded for coming to school,” 8th grader Savanna said. Mr. Cameron also thought that the kids really liked the activity. Although he said that he would have enjoyed himself more if he were in one of those chairs.

This activity is pleasant not only because of the fact that kids can throw whipped cream at their principals’ faces, but because it makes school seem more enjoyable. “It motivates you to come to school more when you have a reward at the end,” Savanna said. If kids believe that school is more fun than they are more likely to attend. So for those who might be coming late or not coming at all, September of 2019 is not all that far away. Well, actually it is a whole 12 months away, but we don’t talk about that. So mark your calendar for September!
