The students of DCIS were surprised by a recent Chick-fil-a event that our school hosted this Wednesday, October 25, on the outdoor stage. Students were presented with gift cards and candy, and were able to dance to music on the stage. There was even a dance-off between the Chick-fil-a Cow and our very own Day Creek Coyote.

“It was great. Watching [the students] dancing and getting candy,” said eighth grader Vince L.

To many students, the event was a success. Most seemed to enjoy the music and gifts. It was a new incentive to encourage students to be on time in the morning. Students are now a little bit more aware that Day Creek does recognize diligence in coming to school every day and trying their best.

“It’s perfect because all the kids that come here on time got something. It’s really nice,” said seventh grader Owen B.

The event was mostly a hit, as just about every student who arrived before 7:45 got either candy or a gift certificate, and the crowd loved it. It’s obvious to tell that our administration is trying for the next step in 100% attendance.
