Thank You…

Natalie M., Writer

Let us end the year with saying goodbye. Goodbye to our teachers and goodbye to our friends. But most of all, let us, students, say thank you to the teachers.

Without teachers, our lives would be drastically changed. We would not have the education that we have today. We would not be knowledgeable to get a decent job . We would be at home sitting on the couch, watching television, rotting our brains. Yet, we are at school for 6 ½ hours. Learning. 5 days a week.

Teachers provide us with wings.

Those wings let us fly. Fly to high school honors classes in the future. Fly to college. Fly to a career.

We do not appreciate teachers as much as we should. They stay up late and grade papers, try to finish typing the worksheets for the next day, and have to worry about 30 kids, not including switch class, elective and PACK.

They do so much for students. So instead of saying, “Have a nice summer!” perhaps we should just say, “Thank you.”
