Super Bowl LIX ended with an uncompetitive outcome, remembered more for the ads than the actual game.
In the first quarter of the game, the Chiefs looked overconfident having won two Super Bowls in a row. The team had the opportunity to be the first in history to “three-peat.” But this would not be the year.
With six minutes left in the first quarter, QB Jaylen Hurts scored the first TD of the game using a “Tush Push.” Despite intercepting the ball, the Chiefs were unable to score a touchdown or field goal.
The second quarter began and the Eagles added two more touchdowns and a field goal. Yet the Chiefs failed to score, making it obvious they did not bring their A-game. It soon became clear that the Eagles would deny the Chiefs a three-peat.
The third quarter continued with the Eagles’ dominance as the team scored another ten points, increasing their lead to 34-0. The Chiefs finally scored their first TD of the game, though it did not make a significant difference as the Eagles celebrated with only two minutes left in the 4th quarter.
The final score was 40-22, as the Eagles won their first Super Bowl since 2018.
