Senator Dianne Feinstein, a centrist Democrat, passed away at 90 years old, leaving behind a legacy as the longest-serving senator in California. Feinstein was elected to the U.S. Senate during the special election of 1992 and served six terms. Many referred to her as a trailblazer including President Joe Biden because of her accomplishments in breaking through gender barriers and other hardships. She was known for being an advocate for liberal priorities important to California. These include environmental protection, reproductive rights, and gun control. She also tried her best to compromise with the Republican Party, which is becoming increasingly hard to do.
