On November 5, 2021, the AstroWorld concert took place in Houston, Texas. What seemed to be another fun-filled night for the participants turned into so much more. About 50,000 people were at the festival, which eventually resulted in a deadly crowd surge. People got up on lighting posts, video decks, and everything in between. Travis Scott continued with the concert despite desperate calls from the audience. At least 8 people from the enormous crowd were killed, two of which being minors. And at least 13 additional concertgoers have been reported to be in severe to critical condition at a local hospital.

Travis Scott’s peers do not seem to be happy with his decisions from that night. Pop music artist Aubrey Drake Graham also known as Drake is suing Travis Scott for his actions. Even Houston’s Mayor, Slyvester Turner, spoke out about the event.

“There are a lot of unanswered questions,” Turner said. “Over the next several days, several weeks, could be even longer, we’ll take an in-depth look at everything that took place, why it took place, what steps we can do moving forward to mitigate an incident of this kind from taking place.”

Travis spoke out in a video to his fans to apologize for the night. “You all know my fans, they mean the world to me,” Travis said. Will the families of the victims accept the apologies?
