Protest Outside Pelosi’s Capitol Hill Office: More Than 100 Arrested

On Monday, 800 students lined and protested at Capitol Hill.

On Monday, December 11, about 800 middle and high school students lined the halls of Capitol Hill. Hundreds demanded that, House Speaker-designate, Nancy Pelosi, prioritize on climate change leading to the arrest of 138 people. According to NBC, Sunrise Movement, the group that organized the protest, said 22 congressional Democrats have already expressed support for the deal.

“Today, the United States Capitol Police arrested 138 individuals for unlawfully demonstrating in the Cannon and Longworth House Office Buildings. All were charged with D.C. Code §22-1307, Crowding, Obstructing, or Incommoding,” Eva Malecki, communications director of the United States Capitol Police, said.
