Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has just made some serious cash. On August 29, he signed a 4-year $134 million contract with a $57.5 million dollar signing bonus. This makes him the highest paid player in NFL history with the largest signing bonus. By the end of this season, he will have made a whopping $80 million.

“Rodgers previously signed a five-year, $110 million extension in 2013 and was set to enter the regular season with two years remaining on his contract,” wrote Herbie Teope of NFL.com.

Rodgers was drafted in 2005 as the 24th overall pick in the first round. He was Brett Favre’s backup for three years until Favre went to the Minnesota Vikings. Since then, Rodgers has had a stellar career. He has thrown for 38,502 yards, 313 passing touchdowns and 78 interceptions, while rushing for 2,670 yards and 25
touchdowns. In addition, he has two MVP awards and a Super Bowl ring. He missed nine games last season with a broken collarbone. Yet with a healthy Aaron Rodgers, the Packers are back in the playoff race. He is definitely invaluable to the Packers and deserves the $191 million he will be earning over the next four years.
