Big Trades in Baseball

Two major trades in baseball recently took place

During the off-season of MLB, two major trades have already taken place. One was for a player named Shohei Ohtani, and one was for Giancarlo Stanton.

Shohei Ohtani is a superstar at both pitching and hitting. He was traded to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim from the Japan league. The Angels are an American League team. This does pose a small problem because AL teams are allowed to have a designated hitter to take the job of batting for the pitcher. Since Ohtani is a superstar at both, the Angels will have to make room in their lineup to fit the needs of his talent.

The other deal was that of Giancarlo Stanton’s. The reigning National League MVP was traded to the New York Yankees from the Miami Marlins. Stanton will play outfield with the American League Rookie of the Year, Aaron Judge. These two ‘Bronx Bombers’ have hopes of carrying their team all the way to the 2018 World Series.

Now that the Winter Meetings have commenced in Orlando, Florida, deals will be struck, money will be spent and the 2018 season will be here before long.
