DCIS Intramural Sports
November 8, 2017
Day Creek students all over campus love the game of basketball. Our school recognized this, leading to the creation of intramural competition. Many students signed up because they enjoy the sport and want to play with their friends. Other students joined in order to improve their skills, such as sixth grader Sohum M. “ I just wanted to have fun and improve my game,” he said.
According to Mr. Nemecek, “Students start off with friendly competition but it gets fiercer the closer we get to the championship.” Do you see the change in game?
Elissa S is another student out of the 130 who joined. But she did so to get in some fierce competition.
“I signed up because I like basketball and I have been in it for so long. I like it to be fierce because I like to be in a competition and not relaxed. It’s the only thing that makes me relax. Who needs to meditate when there’s basketball?” Elissa said.
Obviously not Elissa.
Even if you’re not like Elissa and you want to have competitive game of basketball, this is still a very fun activity that anyone can join. So next time intramural basketball comes around, sign-up. You might just love it!
