On Friday May 10, Day Creek celebrated Teenage Teacher Day. Students enjoy dressing up as their favorite teachers, and teachers dressed up as their trendy students. This was an exciting and creative way to appreciate Day Creek staff.
“I think these days are fun because you can see how other people showed their creativity, and you can start new conversations with different people,” said Sadie R.
Many staff and students wore clothes they never thought they would wear. Many teachers came to school in shorts, crocks, and tank tops while students dressed to impress in sweaters and dresses.
“I think it’s one way to get all the kids on the same page and excited because most students aren’t excited to come to school every day, so they try to make it something fun,” said 7th grade teacher Mrs. Kuramata.
This was a unique day for staff and students to show off their creativity.
“I think it really shows that we really care about our school and how much school spirit we really have,” said Angelina L.
Spirit days like this one are ideal because everyone can participate. Laughter spreads across campus as students see a teenage version of their teachers and teachers find younger versions of themselves.
“I love spirit days. They’re exciting because they give our school an opportunity to express ourselves in something more than everyday clothing,” said Mia V.
