Students hoping to be on stage or in a support role behind the scenes were filled with excitement as they prepared to audition for this school year’s play, Peter Pan Jr. They couldn’t wait to get to know the other students who also auditioned. Day Creek’s young actors and actresses are preparing to do what they love most, performing on stage with friends who will soon become like family.
“I love getting to know the other crew members,” said Sadie C.
Day Creek’s Peter Pan Jr. play provides the opportunity for students to express themselves in ways that they can’t typically show in class.
“My favorite part about performing is that you get to be someone else,” said Emily A.
Not only are the performers pumped with excitement, but so is the backstage crew. Without them, the show could not go on.
“To be a crew member, you have to be able to work with the other crew members and the director,” said Emily A.
The prospective actors and actresses are hoping to get the roles they want. They have worked hard to prepare for their auditions.
“I take a little bit of my time to practice the audition dance and song. Now I know the audition dance by heart,” said Drake B.
Cast and crew members will have to work together to make this show a success. Together they will make sure that they give their best performance.
