Can Money Buy Happiness?
March 8, 2016
Does money have any real value? Sure, it can buy everything your heart desires. But in the end, there is one question that has to be answered: Does money buy happiness?
Many people have very different opinions about money and happiness. According to money.cnn.com, Michael Norton, a Harvard Business School professor, says yes (money can buy your happiness).
“We’re really underspending on the things that make us most happy,” said Norton.
Some people disagree with Norton.
“Money can’t buy happiness, but it can make you awfully comfortable while you’re feeling miserable,” stated Clare Boothe Luce.
“You can’t buy family [or friends] with money. You can’t pay someone to like you because you can’t be happy by yourself,” said Samantha S.
“If you really think about it, [money] can buy stuff to entertain you. But if you don’t have money, you will just be bored, and no one is really happy when they are bored,” Maddie H. said. “The main idea of family is happiness, obviously, but money can still improve your mood.”
“No. You don’t need money to be happy if you have a family that loves you. That is all you need,” said Shelby L.
Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, “Money often costs too much.”
The question is debatable but the decision is up to you to make yourself.
