On Thursday, September 7th, Amazon announced that they were planning to build a second headquarter in North America. This could open up 50,000 new jobs and will cost over 5 billion dollars. They hope to find a location in an urban city with a population of over one million people.

As said on The New York Times, “Amazon said on Thursday that it was searching for a second headquarters in North America, a huge new development that would cost as much as $5 billion to build and run, and would house as many as 50,000 employees. The company…listed a series of requirements for the new location, including a metropolitan area that has a population greater than one million.”
