A lemon sushi roll from Osaka sushi.
San Bernardino‘s newest culinary addition is creating a stir and satisfying appetites. Osaka Sushi and Ramen House, which recently opened in the city center, delivers a meal to remember with bold flavors, a calming ambiance, and surprisingly budget-friendly prices.
Walking into Osaka feels like stepping into a quiet corner of Japan. Although not fully traditional, the restaurant’s decor gives a strong push to Japanese aesthetics. One of the standout design choices? Cherry blossom trees gracefully spread through the middle of the restaurant, creating a peaceful and Instagram-worthy backdrop.
The food, of course, is the heart of the experience. A spread during a recent visit included fresh sashimi, lemon sushi rolls, takoyaki, and mochi ice cream for dessert. The takoyaki, in particular, stole the show. Soft, rich in flavor, and cooked to perfection, these savory octopus balls were among the best around. The lemon rolls provided a fresh citrusy twist, while the sashimi was cleanly cut and satisfying. Presentation was another highlight. Each dish was plated with care, and one even arrived dramatically lit with fire, creating a brief moment of surprise. As part of their grand opening celebration, guests were also treated to a complimentary serving of mochi ice cream, a sweet, chilled finish to a flavorful meal.
Service was fast and friendly. Staff members were quick to deliver food and remained attentive throughout. There was no rush, and the dining experience felt relaxed.
When it comes to pricing, Osaka keeps things sensible. Most menu items fall between $14 and $20, making it a reasonable choice for a sushi night out without breaking the bank.
Pro tip: Don’t skip the boba. At only $4, it’s surprisingly high quality, sweet, flavorful, and a great value for the price.
San Bernardino has gained a hidden gem with Osaka, yet it won’t stay hidden for long if they keep delivering this experience. .
