When Sports And Grades Clash

Many people think that it’s easy to maintain good grades and sports at the same time. Did you know that there are kids who play multiple sports that conflict with school work?  Well, some of these kids are at Day Creek Intermediate. They are Jacob K., Abhi A., and Marcus P.

Many say that it takes a lot of dedication. They carry a 4.0 GPA and still excel in their sports.

“I do all the extra credit possible, study for tests ahead of time, and do homework in classes with my free time,” says Jacob K.

They have tenacity to commit to a busy schedule, which requires the mental discipline to do both sports and school.

“There have been many hard days and easy days as well. On the easy days, we went through the taekwondo routine quickly and then we will have some spare time, or everyone will be there on the days we have dance, and we will finish the dance routine all the way, and then we will have time to play games,” says Abhi A.

This type of schedule requires the discipline to stay up late just to finish homework, and yet, these students still manage to keep up a 4.0 GPA.

“I’ve always been able to maintain my school work by managing my time wisely,” says Marcus P.

Sports are fun. But, do they get in the way of school? Not for these students.
