Do Proctors Treat Students Fairly?

Ever since Day Creek was established, proctors have watched over school grounds to make sure students are on track. Proctors work before school starts and when students are at lunch. Their job is to make sure that students are doing activities that aren’t against school rules.

When asked how students and proctors feel about each other, one student said, “The proctors care for us, but the kids don’t care about them. The kids just talk bad about them,” 7th grader Wyatt B. said.

Another student thinks proctors and students work well together. “I think the proctors are just trying to do their job,” said Zoe L.

The potential for conflict is there, because proctors have to discipline students who make bad decisions. And that has the potential to raise disagreement about how students should be treated.

“Sure, the proctors are okay. Some proctors are nice and some are grumpy,” said Isabelle L.

Students weren’t the only ones who have an opinion about interaction on campus.

“I love, love, love my job here at Day Creek. The students are amazing, very respectful, very nice,” said proctor Carol.

Most students think that proctors are good at their jobs, but others believe they could reach out more to students.

“It’s good to know that they will be nice to you,” said Jazzy J.
