Trump And Obama Meet At The White House

The to-be president of the United States met with President Obama for the first time on Thursday at the White House. The president-elect says he has “great respect” for Mr. Obama. President Barack Obama, who hosted Mr. Trump in the Oval Office for about 90 minutes, pledged to do “everything we can to help you succeed.” Obama claimed that the two discussed many things, such as control of the country’s nuclear weapons, domestic and foreign policy issues and organizational logistics about life in the White House. The President also shared that Michelle Obama had met with Melania Trump while their husbands were talking in the Oval Office.

Donald Trump told reporters, “As far as I’m concerned it could have gone on for a lot longer,” and later stated, “We discussed a lot of different situations, some wonderful and some difficulties. I very much look forward to dealing with the president in the future, including counsel.” After the meeting, Trump went to Capitol Hill to meet with Republican Leaders House Speaker Paul Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.
